Congrats to Nats, rivalries and OTAs for Redskins, United ISO victories

The Nationals played the Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins last week, winning both three-game series. Sunday, Matt Capps pitched his 13th save of the season, which leads the majors. Josh Willingham hit the go ahead home run to take the lead 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth. The Marlins had tied the game in the top of the eighth. Next up for the Nats is a nine-game road trip with stops in New York, Colorado and St. Louis.
The Redskins finished up their second mini camp this past weekend. There are a lot of high expectations going into next season. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan told Redskins.com’s Gary Fitzgerald, “There is competition at every position, competition for roster spots, competition to make the Redskins better. One of our goals, once we do start training camp, is to have our top 80 guys.” Next up for the Skins are voluntary organized team activities in May and early June. June 18 starts mandatory mini camps.
After a few games at RFK Stadium, DC United tried its luck to get some victories on the road. However, that did not happen. They lost 1-0 to FC Dallas, Saturday night. Jeff Cunningham scored in the 68th minute to take the 1-0 lead. That turned out to be the only goal of the evening. United comes home to RFK Stadium May 15 to play the Colorado Rapids.
